Your bank accounts are where bills are paid from and incomes arrive. Xpenses does not connect to your bank: you tell it the balance once, and it keeps it up to date from the payments you tick. The free plan has one account; with Pro you can add as many as you need.
Add an account
Under Bank Accounts, tap + or the Add account card. Give it a name, today's balance and a colour. The colour marks the bills paid from it, as a bar on the left of each bill or a dot (Settings > Account colour).
Correct today's balance
Tap the ⋯ on the account card, then Edit, and type in Balance today what your banking app shows now. Xpenses works out the rest; the payments you ticked stay as they are.
Do it whenever the two differ: a card payment you did not plan, a bank fee, cash. It is the quickest way to keep the forecast honest without logging every coffee.
Keep an account out of your total
Some money in your accounts is not yours to spend: savings, a tax reserve, money held for someone else. Turn Count in my total off for that account. It keeps its own balance, forecast and warnings, but:
- "You will have at month end" and the amount per day count only the other accounts.
- Bills paid from it are not part of the month's expenses.
- Moving money into it shows in the header as Set aside this month.
Transfers between your accounts
With two accounts or more, you can plan a transfer: in the add sheet, choose the type Transfer between accounts, then From, To, the amount and how often (the monthly saving, the money for the joint account). A transfer is neither an expense nor an income: it moves the balance of both accounts and leaves your totals alone. Tick it like a bill when it is done.
Import a statement
From the account's ⋯, Import bank statement brings in its real movements (importing).
Delete an account
Delete removes the account together with the bills planned on it and their payments. If you only want to stop using it, keep it and turn it out of your total instead.
If you stop paying for Pro, you keep the accounts you have; you only cannot add more.
