Saskatchewan's minimum wage went up to $15.70 an hour on October 1, 2026, from $15.35. It is set each year by a formula that weighs the province's consumer price index and average hourly wage equally; the October 2027 amount is not known yet.

Saskatchewan has three brackets for 2026: 10.5 % on the first $54,532, 12.5 % up to $155,805 and 14.5 % above that. The basic personal amount is $20,381, which the province is raising by $500 a year on top of indexation.

Most purchases in Saskatchewan carry the 5 % federal GST plus the 6 % provincial sales tax, 11 % in total.

What income does rent in Saskatchewan take?

A common guideline is to keep housing at or below 30 % of gross income. At $1,451 a month, that means a household income of about $58,000 a year before tax.
