Switch from Fintonic to Xpenses

Leave Fintonic without starting from scratch: export your movements, and Xpenses finds your bills and shows what you will have left at month end, without your bank passwords.

Updated: 2026-10-08

Fintonic is Spain's best-known finance app: it connects your banks and shows you what you spent. People who switch to Xpenses usually want something else: to know how much they will have left at the end of the month before it ends, without giving any app their bank passwords and without financial product offers.

What you bring from Fintonic

Fintonic announced in 2018 that movements can be downloaded as an Excel file. Upload it to Xpenses and we find what repeats: rent, utilities, insurance, subscriptions and salary, with amount, frequency and due day. Some users report Fintonic's download failing; if it does, download the movements from your bank's website instead: it is the same data, and Xpenses reads Spanish banks' Excel and CSV files.

What changes

  • Xpenses does not read your bank: one-off expenses (a dinner, a gift) are yours to add if you want them in the forecast.
  • We don't copy your purchase history, only the bills and income that repeat, which is what a forecast needs.

If you want to see every transaction without typing anything and don't mind connecting your banks, Fintonic does that well and for free.

Switch in four steps

  1. Export your transactions from Fintonic (how is above).
  2. Create your free Xpenses account and add your bank account with today's balance.
  3. Go to Settings, "Import from another app or your bank", choose Fintonic and upload the file.
  4. Review what we found, untick what you no longer pay and tap "Add".

Importing is free on every plan, and the file is deleted as soon as the import is done.
