Wallet, by the Czech company BudgetBakers, is one of Europe's most complete finance apps: thousands of connected banks, multiple currencies, planned payments and reports. People who switch to Xpenses usually want the opposite: something learnt in two minutes that answers one question, how much will I have left at month end.
Why people switch to Xpenses
| Wallet | Xpenses | |
|---|---|---|
| Learning curve | Many features | Learnt in two minutes |
| Planned payments | Yes | Yes, every 1 to 12 months, with a due day, a reminder that day and one-tap payment |
| Bank connection | Yes, 5,000+ European banks | No: no bank passwords |
| Exporting your data | Premium feature | Free on every plan |
| Price | Premium from about €5 a month | Free with one account; Pro €2.99/month or €24.99/year |
What you bring from Wallet
- Open Wallet's web app and go to Records.
- Filter the period (twelve months is best), select all records and click Export, CSV.
In Wallet, exporting is a Premium feature. If you no longer have it, download the transactions from your bank's website: Xpenses reads those too.
What changes
- One currency per user and no bank connection: one-off expenses are yours to add if you want them in the forecast.
- Fewer reports: Xpenses shows month end, recurring costs and spending by category, not dashboards.
If you need several currencies, bank sync and detailed reports, Wallet is more complete.
Switch in four steps
- Export your transactions from Wallet (how is above).
- Create your free Xpenses account and add your bank account with today's balance.
- Go to Settings, "Import from another app or your bank", choose Wallet and upload the file.
- Review what we found, untick what you no longer pay and tap "Add".
Importing is free on every plan, and the file is deleted as soon as the import is done.
