The month view tells you about this month. Three other views step back: what your fixed costs add up to in a year, where the money goes by category, and how your balance moves over the whole year. All three are free.
Recurring expenses
Near the bottom of the dashboard, the Recurring expenses card shows what your repeating bills cost in a year. Tap it for the detail:
- Per year and per month, on average, at today's amounts. A bill every two months counts six times, a yearly one once.
- Of your recurring income: the share of your regular income that is already spoken for.
- Each bill, grouped by category, with its yearly cost and the date of the next charge.
One-offs and bills that start in a later month are left out. It is the list to go through once a year: which subscriptions are still worth it, which insurance to compare.
Expenses by category
Once a bill has a category, the dashboard shows Expenses by category for the month on screen, largest first. Bills without a category are not in it. Manage categories in Settings: add your own with an emoji, rename or delete them (deleting a category leaves its bills without one).
The year view
Tap the month's name at the top of the dashboard. The year view shows:
- The year's incomes, expenses and what you saved, and what you will have on 31 December.
- A bar for the balance at the end of each month. Past months are what happened; the faded bars are the forecast.
- Month by month, with incomes and expenses. Tap a month to open it.
It is the place to spot a hard month in advance: the one with the yearly insurance and the car service together.
Your year in Xpenses
At the top of the year view, Your … in Xpenses sums the year up: how many payments you made, how many on time, the months with more in than out, and your top category. Its card shows counts only, never amounts, so you can share it; the amounts are listed under it, for you alone.
