Reminders and the monthly report

A reminder on the day a bill is due, a warning before an account goes below zero and next month's forecast by e-mail: how to turn each on or off.

Updated: November 4, 2026

Xpenses can tell you when a bill is due and when money is about to run short, so you do not have to open it every day. Everything is in Settings > Preferences.

Preferences: language, currency, account colour, payment reminders and monthly report.

Payment reminders

With Payment reminders on, each morning Xpenses sends you the bills still unpaid that are due that day, in the wallet you have open. Only bills with a due day can be reminded: give your bills their day.

With Pro, the same switch also sends the low-balance warning: when an account is forecast to go below zero in the next 7 days, you hear about it once, a few days before.

Monthly report (Pro)

With Monthly report on, you get next month's forecast by e-mail a few days before it starts: what will come in, what will go out and what will be left. Each e-mail has a link to stop it.

Notification or e-mail

If you use the phone app and allowed its notifications, reminders arrive as notifications on the phone. Otherwise they come by e-mail. Never both. The monthly report is always an e-mail.

Change the language or currency

On the same screen, Language sets the language of the app, the reminders and the e-mails, and Currency the currency amounts are shown in. Changing the currency does not convert amounts: it only changes the symbol.
