Ticking a bill as paid is the one thing you do regularly in Xpenses. It takes a tap, and it keeps today's balance right without typing amounts.
Mark a bill as paid
Each bill still to pay has an empty round button on the right. When the money has left your account, tap it. The bill gets a green tick and moves down to Paid.
The month-end figure does not move: it already counted that bill. What changes is the account's balance today, which now includes the payment, and the "still to pay" total. Incomes work the same way: tick your salary when it arrives.
Undo a payment
Tapped the wrong one? Tap the green tick again and the bill is pending again. Nothing else changes.
A different amount or another account
The electricity came to a bit more this month, or you paid it from another account: tap the bill's name, choose Pay, and change the Amount or the Account. Only this month's payment changes; next month the bill comes back with its planned amount. If the bill has gone up for good, edit it instead.
Late bills
In the current month, a bill with a due day that has passed and is not ticked is shown as late, so you can check whether it was really charged. In the daily forecast, late bills count as due today.
Paying ahead or for a past month
- Go to next month and tick a bill there: it counts as paid in advance. The money left your account today, so today's balance goes down.
- Tick a bill in a past month you forgot: it is booked on the first day of that month.
Weekly bills
A weekly bill shows one line per week, each with its own button. Tick each week as it goes.
Paying together
In a shared wallet, either of you can tick a bill, and the other sees it paid straight away. Settings shows who ticked what.
Bank statements do it for you
If you import your bank's statements, Xpenses can match the movements to your bills and tick them (Pro). See importing.
